    ACADEMICS
RELIGION:   We will be using our Bibles on Monday.  During this Ordinary Time in the church, we learn more about Christ's ministry on earth.  Our next Chaper is a continuation of Reconciliation, Ch. 16.  We have invited Father Chris to speak on this topic. The next Saint Report is due February 8, 2012.

ENGLISH: Students now have their new Study Guide on VERBS. Currently we are studying the tenses of verbs - ALL NINE TENSES- This requires study!  There are plenty of practice Exercises in the textbook and workbook. Students, think of some good action verbs that we can pantomime and guess in class!
READING: We are beginning Unit 4 in our Reading textbook.  New A.R. goals have been set for the 3rd quarter.  New .5 books are in the baskets to read.  Students should read five of these .5 books and test on them for credit and a gold star!
VOCABULARY:  Our new unit is unit 9. Congratulations to Mary and Brad for a super job in the school-wide Spelling Bee!  They did remarkably well!
The semester ended on Jan. 13th.  It's time to take a look at supplies to be replenished for the next semester. Spirals may need replaced.  Check for pencils, red pens especially,
looseleaf paper or any art supplies.  This is very important for academic success. Thanks.
!We are kicking off CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK this Friday, Jan. 27 with a fifth grade Trivia contest for students.
